Saqib Chadhar has rejected allegations made by actress Momina Iqbal, stating that he has had no contact with her for the past eight months and dismissing the claims as baseless.
According to a statement reported by 24NewsHD TV, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker said he possesses complete records related to the matter and denied any involvement in harassment, cyberbullying, or the alleged circulation of private content.
The controversy emerged after Momina Iqbal accused the politician of harassment and leaking private photos and videos, claims that have since triggered public attention and legal scrutiny.
In his response, Saqib Chadhar alleged that the actress was “playing the women card” and insisted that the accusations should be supported with evidence if they were to be considered valid. His remarks have added further intensity to an already sensitive dispute being widely discussed on social media.
He also claimed that Momina Iqbal’s fiancé had threatened him after viewing a video related to the matter and stated that he had filed a complaint with the police regarding those alleged threats. Additionally, he said he had recently learned about the actress’s reported plans to get married.
The lawmaker further claimed that the actress’s mother had contacted him and issued an apology, though this claim has not been independently verified by any official source.
The case is currently under review by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, which has reportedly issued a notice to the politician as part of its ongoing inquiry into the allegations.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has stated that the matter will be investigated transparently and in accordance with the law, emphasizing that no individual will be allowed to harass or exploit women under any circumstances.
The situation continues to develop as authorities examine evidence and statements from both parties, while public discussion around the case remains active across social and traditional media platforms.
