Television star Durefishan Saleem has openly refuted widespread rumours suggesting she secretly married co-star Bilal Abbas Khan, calling such claims entirely speculative and misleading.
In a recent candid interview, Durefishan clarified that there was no truth to the rumours that have been circulating online, particularly since her widely praised performance in Ishq Murshid opposite Bilal.
“These are just baseless speculations. Had anything like this happened, you would’ve seen pictures all over social media,” she said, addressing the gossip head-on.
Durefishan emphasized that while she and Bilal shared great on-screen chemistry and a professional camaraderie off-screen, their relationship never extended beyond that. “We bonded well during filming and often shared light moments. That’s natural when you’re working together intensely,” she noted.
The rumours took root after a YouTube video went viral, alleging the two had quietly tied the knot and were deliberately keeping it under wraps. However, Durefishan dismissed the narrative as another example of the media’s shift toward sensationalism without proper verification.
“Unfortunately, our entertainment media is beginning to reflect the tabloid culture we often see in Bollywood,” she said. “Personal events like marriage aren’t something one can hide easily, nor would I want to.”
Expressing gratitude for her rising success, Durefishan added, “It’s been just five years, but I’m overwhelmed with the kind of love I’ve received. The audience’s expectations now help me refine my work choices.”
She also hinted at exciting new projects in the pipeline while reaffirming her commitment to staying grounded and authentic.
