Seasoned Pakistani actor Waseem Abbas has sparked discussion with his comments on Bilal Abbas’s acting in the hit drama “Ishq Murshid.” While acknowledging Bilal’s talent, Abbas suggests instances of overacting and criticizes the show’s sometimes unrealistic plot elements.
Abbas’s Thoughts on Bilal Abbas
During an interview with host Mukarram Kaleem, Waseem Abbas praised Bilal’s onscreen chemistry with co-star Durefishan Saleem. However, he expressed concern that Bilal occasionally overacts, potentially overshadowing the show’s strengths.
“Bilal is a handsome and gifted actor,” Abbas stated, “but at times, his performance in ‘Ishq Murshid’ feels a bit exaggerated.”
Criticisms of the Show’s Direction
Abbas also questioned the show’s director, Farooq Rind. He found certain plot choices unrealistic, such as a father seemingly unconcerned about a romance developing between his daughter and a young tenant.
“It seems illogical,” said Abbas. “It’s hard to believe a father would be so comfortable with this situation, especially given the open setting of their interactions.”
Popularity Despite Flaws
Despite his reservations, Abbas acknowledged the immense popularity of “Ishq Murshid.” He believes the captivating onscreen chemistry between the lead actors drives much of the viewership.
“The romance carries this show,” Abbas observed. “The audience seems captivated by Bilal and Durefishan’s connection, which perhaps overshadows some of the show’s other issues.”
