Kartik Aaryan Fights to Restore ‘Aashiqui 3’ Name in Bollywood’s Iconic Romance Franchise

Kartik Aaryan Battles to Bring Back ‘Aashiqui 3’ as a Proper Franchise Title

After his recent box-office success with the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ series, Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan is on a quest to revive another beloved franchise—‘Aashiqui’. The actor, who was initially brought on to lead the third installment, has been vocal about restoring the project’s original title, ‘Aashiqui 3,’ after a dispute between T-Series and Vishesh Films led to its rebranding as ‘Tu Aashiqui Hai.’

Aaryan believes that linking the new film with the legacy of ‘Aashiqui’ will appeal to fans of the franchise, which began with the original 1990 blockbuster featuring Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. According to insiders, the actor has urged T-Series head Bhushan Kumar to negotiate with Mukesh Bhatt for the title rights to bring the project back under the ‘Aashiqui’ banner.

Why ‘Aashiqui 3’ Matters for Kartik Aaryan and Bollywood

Kartik Aaryan sees strong potential in the franchise revival, especially given the success of ‘Aashiqui 2’ in 2013, which starred Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor and captured hearts with its musical and emotional depth. As Aaryan seeks to position himself as the lead in the romantic series, his confidence has only grown with the triumph of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.’ By preserving the ‘Aashiqui’ title, Aaryan hopes to tap into a loyal fanbase and bring back the nostalgic allure of classic Bollywood romance.

Other Plans on the Horizon

In addition to working on ‘Aashiqui 3,’ Kartik Aaryan is considering sequels to his 2018 blockbuster, ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.’ With Anurag Basu currently busy with the re-shoot of ‘Metro…In Dino,’ filming for ‘Aashiqui 3’ will likely be postponed until next year. Meanwhile, Aaryan will soon commence shooting for Mudassar Aziz’s ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh 2,’ adding another sequel to his ever-growing lineup of hit films.
