Bollywood star turned global icon Priyanka Chopra recently opened up about a turning point in her career when she felt the need to explore opportunities beyond Hindi cinema. Despite her international success, Chopra emphasized that leaving Bollywood was never her personal choice.
In a candid conversation with Firstpost, she shared, “I don’t think I ever wanted to leave Bollywood. I felt limited for many reasons when I was working in Hindi films. I wanted to expand. I was kind of pushed into wanting to look for opportunities that would be exciting to me as an artiste.” Her decision ultimately led her to Hollywood, where she has spent over a decade establishing herself as a versatile performer across TV and film.

Priyanka’s last Hindi film was The Sky Is Pink (2019), but she is making a return to Indian cinema with the upcoming Telugu project Varanasi. She expressed excitement about working in India again, noting the unique challenge and joy of balancing both Bollywood and Hollywood projects. “They are both different to work with in many ways, just as cultures are, but now, my brain can work in two different ways, so it’s really a unique, amazing, fun thing to be able to do,” she said.

Chopra also reflected on her early struggles in Bollywood. Coming from a non-film background, she faced obstacles that many insiders, often referred to as “nepotism babies,” do not encounter. In interviews and podcasts, including one with Dax Shepard, she has credited these challenges with strengthening her resilience and determination.
Looking ahead, Priyanka stars in the highly anticipated Prime Video release, The Bluff, a 19th-century pirate adventure co-starring Karl Urban. She revealed that she performed the majority of her stunts herself for the film, which is set to release on February 25, 2026. Fans are eagerly awaiting her dynamic performance, which showcases her versatility and commitment to challenging roles.

Priyanka Chopra’s journey from Bollywood to Hollywood reflects her dedication, courage, and ability to break boundaries, while staying true to her roots. Her upcoming projects promise to delight audiences across continents and highlight her as one of the most influential Indian artists in the global entertainment industry.
