Hollywood superstar Jennifer Lopez has opened up about her striking transformation for her upcoming film Kiss of the Spider Woman, revealing how stepping into a completely new look changed not only her appearance but also her persona.
During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show, the 56-year-old actress discussed the process behind her dramatic makeover, including her transition to platinum blonde hair — a change that initially made her nervous.
Host Howard Stern praised Lopez’s new look, telling her, “I like you as a platinum blonde.” Lopez admitted she was hesitant at first, saying, “It was so different. I was just worried because I’d never had platinum blonde hair.”
The transformation, which drew comparisons to pop icon Gwen Stefani, initially made Lopez question whether the shade would complement her skin tone. “I’d tried blonde wigs before, but it always looked terrible on my complexion,” she explained, adding that she only agreed to the change after her team assured her it would be done right.
Working with her longtime makeup artist Scott Barnes, Lopez found a look that felt authentic to her character. “Scott said, ‘I know how to do it. We’re going to make it beautiful,’ and he really did,” she shared.
The multi-talented star went on to describe how the transformation went beyond aesthetics, altering the way she carried herself both on and off the set. “Everything changed. I turned into a different person. My hands moved differently. My body felt different. Even the colors I wore changed,” Lopez said.
The actress, singer, and producer has long been praised for her ability to immerse herself in diverse roles, and this project appears to be another bold addition to her career. Kiss of the Spider Woman is set to showcase Lopez in a new light, both literally and creatively, as she continues to redefine versatility in Hollywood.
